Anthrophobia
BIO
The leader, and only original founding member, Frank Phobia, of the Reading, PA based band Anthrophobia has melted the walls between rock, metal and punk for well over two decades. Playing their first show back in March of 1985 while still in High School, Frank had no idea what an interesting, creative, challenging and gratifying musical rollercoaster was ahead of him. The band, in every era, pushed the boundaries and sonic envelope of Rock to create sounds the fulfill their own gratifications, sometimes to the detriment of their career and growing fan base. Each release was a reflection of the chemistry of the then current line up, democratically supervised and shaped by the vocal and lyrical direction of Frank Phobia.
The band toured, released vinyl 7 inches, had tracks on various compilations, signed record deals, created and released 2 EPs and 4 Full Length CDs. In November 2007, Frank staged a career-spanning 3 hour 'Phobia Family Reunion / Farewell extravaganza featuring many 'Phobia Alumni musicians to properly say goodbye to the entity known as Anthrophobia. Since that time, Anthrophobia's music has taken on a life of its own being featured in over 100 TV shows and various DVD releases. Fast forward to 2014, Frank is working on new music to be released with various former line-ups of the band with long time guitarist/musical partners, Brent Black and Bassist Eric Bess. Songs for TV, a cover of 'Twilight" for a tribute CD to Philly Legends, Ruin, and remixed, remastered, re-releases from the 'Phobia catalog are all in the works. As well as, new full length recording from the Founding Fathers lineup from 1985 to be released to celebrate 30 years of Anthrophobia coming full circle!
